JAMBUKESHWARA TEMPLE, THIRUVANAIKAL INDIA
Jambukeshwara temple is one of the 'Panchabhoota Sthalams'
which signifying the 5 natural factors and this temple represents as water.
Hence this temple is also reverred as 'Appu Sthalam' and the lord ShivaLingam
proper here is called as 'Appu Linga'
This jambukeshwara temple was built by kocengannan at the
early, which was around 1800 years ago. There are two main lord in the temple
named Jambukeshwara who is well known as Shiva and Akilandeswari who known as
Parvati. She is Lord Shiva’s wife.
- The unique of this temple is that the sanctum of Jambukeshara has an underground water stream and is spite of pumping water out.
- The place is always filled with water the water spring oozing inside the Sanctorum of Lord Shiva.
- This temple is situated in Coromandel between two rivers, Cauvery in south, coleroon in North. It is one of the 5 element shrines or Pancha Bootha sthalams and is famend for the worship of lord Siva as representing the detail of water (appulinga).
