SRI KOTILINESHWARA TEMPLE, KARNATAKA INDIA
Sri Kotilineshwara temple is located in Kammasandra Village near in
Kolar in Karnataka. Kolar is at a distance of 3 hours from Bangalore. The
temple was constructed by Shri Shri Swamy Samba Shiva Murthy in 1972. The
main attraction of the temple is a huge Lingam measuring 108 Ft gall at the
centre if temple complex and 35 ft tall nandhi state in attendance.
The Lord Nandhi is installed over a platform which is in 60 feet in length of 14 feet.The temple has one of the larger lingams in the world which I have mentioned 108 ft(33m). And 125000 shiveling available in this temple. The larger lingam is refer to the name kotilingeshwara. Koti means 'close ' and 'Crores '
Inside the temple complex there are 11 small temple It's for Lord
Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Maheshwara. Besides the Linga there was a water
tank it is use for to perform Abhiseheka. Rest house ,marriage hall, and
meditation hall were attached into this temple.
The Government had declared this temple as a best tourist spot. The Best
Time for visitors to this temple is between July and January.
